Located close to the Gros Horloge, the street that bears his name, the Select was a 457-seat theater with balcony.
Its origin dates back to December 13, 1908, when inaugurated was "Innovation", instead of a clothing store in the same boat, transformed into a film by its owner!
This was the first film created settled in the city of Rouen.

In September 1921, for a change of ownership, the cinema is renamed to "Select", which he kept until its closure in July 1952.
